Bizagi Usability Lab

I implemented the Usability Lab at Bizagi to improve usability for three main products.

Opportunity

In Bizagi, all design solutions were validated only with stakeholders and team members, never with customers or users, which created usability issues and frustration for them. Bizagi’s Usability Lab allows the experience teams to ensure that customers understand how best to use a product and delight in that use.

Solution

After reading a couple of books and taking some training, my peers and I established a process for testing our assumptions: Participants were brought into a lab (room or Microsoft Teams call), one-on-one with a designer (researcher), a prototype, and a set of tasks to complete and questions to answer. We were measuring things like effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction.

With Lookback, we recorded participants’ faces, screens, and voices

Outcomes

We found an effective way of validating our assumptions and not generating waste by building things that no one wants or is hard to use. We started to make informed designs.
