I designed an activity log for Blackboard Learn that tracks student interactions in a course.

An activity log designed for professors and faculty provides insights into student actions in a course. It serves troubleshooting, decision-making, and adaptation purposes. Professors can track student engagement, identify patterns, and tailor interventions based on the recorded data. This tool enhances teaching effectiveness and fosters personalized learning experiences.
The problem space
I explore user needs, pain points, and desires. They create a concise problem statement, guiding subsequent stages. It is the foundation for meaningful design. And I did it in any challenge.
With the team, we gather feedback from Aha! (a feedback platform for customers), focus groups, and one-on-one interviews. Using these tools, we gain a deeper understanding of the problem, frame it correctly, and pivot when necessary.

I conducted 1:1 interviews and focus groups, along with surveys, to gather more information. Each session has its own goals and guidelines. This workflow works solution and problem spaces.

The solution space
I generate ideas, iterate on them, and create tangible artifacts like sketches, workflows, and prototypes. Here I make the explorations of different interactions and states.

Delivery
Once the idea is solidified, the product development phase begins. Working closely with the product manager and engineers, we define acceptance criteria, assess feasibility, and iterate through an ongoing process.

Outcomes
An activity log for instructors to monitor student activity has several benefits:
- Predictive Insights: Instructors can identify at-risk students early.
- Personalized Support: Tailoring assistance based on activity patterns.
- Assessment Validity: Verifying student participation.
- Learning Outcomes Alignment: Assessing progress toward goals.
Activity logs empower instructors to enhance student success.
